Like Audrey Hepburn in Roman Holiday Ford have realised that Europe is the place for adventure, and will debut its new SYNC 3 infotainment software here later this year.
Ford has announced the European arrival of its SYNC 3 infotainment system which is set to debut on the Mondeo, Galaxy and S-MAX and then appear in the highly anticipated Kuga SUV later this year.
SYNC 3 is compatible with the likes of Spotify and will allow syncing with weather apps to produce relevant local forecasts, and it can even update itself using your home wifi connection. The software intends to have a simplified user experience, with fewer steps required for the system to function than previous versions, plus processing power is increased. An addition likely to appease to our smartphone generation is the addition of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. All of the SYNC 3 systems come with an eight-inch touch screen, but the real winning element of the system is its conversational command software. Owners need simply tell their car “I need a coffee” or “I need petrol” and the system will lead them to the nearest and most appropriate facilities. We’d be tempted to test just how smart this smart software is. “Take me to a winning lottery ticket,” perhaps?

Designed to compliment modern smartphones, with an intuitive touch screen, Sync 3 understands more conversational speech, is faster, and offers an easier-to-read graphical interface.”
There was a time when opening a car window with a button was exciting, now you can tell it to find you a parking space. The SYNC 3 will launch in Europe this summer.
